Changed that to a 1 and now the settings changes stick. Yes it was Oblivion Reloaded's 'Save Settings' being on 0.

Thanks for reading this large help request.Īha.
#Jfk reloaded settings keep resetting how to
So any Oblivion Settings Guru out there than knows how to fix this annoying problem so that i can simply make the setting changes i'm after and have them 'stick'? So maybe i'm still playing on 'Medium' texture settings? Then for the period of that game session (alone) it seems to keep them, but i do wonder if the texture change really is working (from Medium to Large) as you get that pop-up saying Oblivion needs to be re-started for it to take effect, and if i do re-start it always gets set back to 'Medium'. The only way i can currently 'fix' the issue, and this is temporary as when i quit the game and reload the settings reset to the above mentioned ones is if i change the settings on the Oblivion loading screen then load my save game, go back into the settings and change the settings again, then use 'saveini' within the console. I know my way around the Oblivion.ini file nearly blind-folded, like i mentioned i'm pretty 'expert' about modding+playing TES games etc. It rarely crashes, having EngineBugFixes.dll, FastExit2.dll and sr_Oblivion_Stutter_remover.dll all running via OBSE plugin.

My hardware is average, but more than enough for Oblivion:Īs i mentioned it is a pretty heavy mod build, based around Oblivion Reloaded and Francesco's, with about a hundred other mods, all setup via Wrye Bash and Oblivion Mod Manager. I have run the OblivionLauncher.exe and that reported not knowing my GPU and setting some very low settings (like 800圆00 and Low texture settings etc). The fact it always starts the game with these reduced settings is the main problem, even starting a new character after adjusting the options does not 'keep' them, next re-load and i'm right back to 'Medium' texture settings etc. I've gone through the Tweak Guide and am a kind of regular on the various TES modding sites so have a pretty long history with TES games and tweaking them, but this issue is just bizare. I would like to have them always start at Maximum, so: Texture Size: Medium (and this is the biggest issue i think)Īll other settings are as i want them (pretty much maximum etc), but these specific ones are not. When i launch Oblivion it always starts with:

I have looked around the internet (high and low) for an complete solution to the problem, but to no avail so far. I do have a large (ish) modded Oblivion build. I have installed Oblivion outside of the \Program Files directory. I can (and do) use 'saveini' in the console, but the issue remains next time i re-load. Hail Citizen! Welcome to /r/oblivion!
